-
How long have you been in business? We opened in March of 2013.
-
Where are you located? We are located at 217 Mobile Street in downtown Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
-
Where do I park? There are several lots near our building. The county owns a lot located on the south side of our building, which can be used for public parking on the weekends. We also have a grass parking lot located directly across the street from The Lucky Rabbit.
-
When is your outdoor sale?We host an outdoor sale on the First Saturday of every month. The event is rain or shine although the weather affects the outcome of vendor participation.
-
How many vendors do you have?In store, we have a collaboration of over 80 vendors, local craftsmen, and creators.
-
What kind of items do you carry? We carry a variety of items from collectibles, vintage items, wholesale items, boutique clothing, local tshirts, vintage furniture, hand painted furniture, handmade jewelry, and more!
-
How often do your vendors restock? We are not a set it and forget it style store. Our vendors restock weekly, and our store owners are constantly changing displays on a weekly basis to bring our customers a visually interesting and ever-changing shopping experience.
-
Are you a flea market or antique store?Well, to put it simply, neither! We are an eclectic vendor-based store with a nice variety of old and new merchandise, gift items, handcrafted local items, collectibles, and vintage hands-on experiences. From an arcade to old, working pay phones, to shopping for your favorite nostalgic items from childhood, we like to say our store has something for everyone!
-
In what building are you located and when was it built? We have two buildings! The Hardware Building and The Grocery Building. Our original location, the Hardware Bldg, is the old Hawkin’s Hardware wholesale building. Much like us now, the building house not just hardware items, but a variety of different wholesale items to ship to local stores. Our second building, located next door, is the Grocery Building. It was built in the 1920s and housed Hattiesburg Grocery Wholesale.
-
How many square feet is your building? We are roughly 9,000 square feet downstairs and 5,000 square feet upstairs. We have a Pyrex Bus attached to our building that has additional shopping square footage and 2 shipping containers outside that house a variety of different merchandise.
-
Do you have an upstairs? We do have an upstairs filled with all kinds of great merchandise including furniture! The stairs are in the back left corner of our building as you enter from the front door. We have a spiral staircase at the front of the store that is just for fun. You are welcome to use the spiral staircase at your own risk.
-
Do you have a restroom?Yes! We have one single person restroom downstairs with a changing table. It is located on the left side of the building when you enter from the front door. We have 2 a smaller restroom located upstairs directly above our downstairs restroom. On a busy day or an outdoor sale, we typically have a portable restroom located outside.
-
What types of payments do you accept? We accept cash or all major credit cards including Discover and American Express. We prefer debit card usage.
-
Where is the Pyrex Bus?The Pyrex bus is located on the north side of the building or the right side of the building as you enter from the front door. Enter the bus from inside the building and you will see signs leading you to the Pyrex bus on the right side of the building. Unfortunately, the Pyrex bus does not travel, and it stays in one location permanently.
-
Are you pet friendly?Yes, we allow leashed, friendly pets. Our building can get hot, so please bring a water option for your pet.
-
Do you have a wheelchair ramp?Yes, both buildings have ramps.
-
Do you have air conditioning? We do not have air conditioning. Despite our best efforts, the temperature of the store in the summer is very hot. We recommend those who are heat sensitive, to come first thing in the morning on Saturday (at 9 a.m.) or wait until our cooler months which are October through May. We do have fans located everywhere throughout the building. We also have 3 water coolers with water cups for your enjoyment. Feel free to bring a tumbler to stay hydrated while you shop. We have sodas for sale at the register.
-
Do you offer food or refreshments? We have light refreshments (cookies, chips, popsicles, etc.) at our front checkout counter. We also have a large variety of cold drinks for sale.
-
Do you sell adult beverages? We do sell beer and White Claws to anyone over the age of 21 with a valid I.D. No alcohol sales on Sunday until noon per city ordinance. We are in an open district, so you can leave the store with your alcohol to shop at other locations.
-
Where else can I shop or what else can I do in the area? There are so many wonderful things to do in Hattiesburg! From the Hattiesburg Zoo to Southern Prohibition Brewing, your family can have a day full of fun in “The Burg.” Ask any of our associates for a “Lucky List” and we will provide you with a list of our favorite places to eat and things to do.
-
How do I pay for an item?We have a centralized checkout in our store. Instead of paying for an item in a vendor space, you will pay for your items at a checkout at the end of your shopping experience.
-
What if I want to purchase multiple items? If you find too many items to hold, our Lucky Staff will take items for you and hold them in a cubby behind the register. All you need to do is remember which items belong to you and let us know at checkout. We will bag up and wrap up all your items nicely for travel back to your home.
-
What do I do if a piece of merchandise does not have a price?Locate a Lucky Staff member and let them know where you found the item. We will locate a price for you. Try not to wait until checkout to ask for a price, as this will create a delay in your checkout experience. Always remember which booth you found the unpriced items. Feel free to take a picture of the vendor code located on another vendor tag.
-
How do I purchase and/or pick up a piece of furniture? Our furniture and larger items are tagged with what we call a “Tear and Take” tag. You will tear the bottom piece of the tag and take it to checkout when you are ready to purchase. Notify the staff if you would like to take the furniture with you or if you would like to pick it up at a later date. We do furniture pickups during store hours only on Saturday from 9-6 and Sunday from 11-5.
-
How long can the store hold a piece of furniture after I purchase it?We typically hold purchased furniture for up to 2 weeks. If you need us to hold a piece for longer than 2 weeks, please let us know. To pick up your furniture, please visit us during regular store hours every Saturday and Sunday. Bring your receipt to the front checkout and notify a cashier that you are ready to pickup your furniture.
-
Where do I go to pick up a piece of furniture? We offer furniture pickups during our store hours only. We are open every Saturday 9a-6p and Sunday 11a-5p. First, bring your receipt inside and let the staff know that you have arrived to pick up a piece of furniture. The staff will instruct you where to pull your vehicle. You will pickup your furniture from our loading dock which is located on the right side of the building, right past the Blue Pyrex Bus.
-
Do I have to load my own furniture? No! We have staff that will load furniture for you. We offer furniture pickups when we are open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
-
Can I buy merchandise online?Currently, we do not offer merchandise for sale online. We have a variety of t-shirts available at www.thehattiesburger.com.
-
How do I become a vendor? We currently do not have any space for new vendors, but we are always accepting vendor applications! Go to our website www.theluckyrabbit.com and check out the vendor application located on the top right of the page. When you fill it out, you join the waiting list! On the bottom of the application, there is a list of information about becoming a vendor.
-
How long is the vendor wait list?It is tough to say, really. But expect up to 6 to 12 months and even longer at times.
-
How do I become a vendor for the outdoor sale?To become a vendor for the outdoor sale, go to the website and fill out the “First Saturdays Vendor App.” Expect to be contacted 2 to 3 weeks in advance to reserve your spot for the sale.

Also, do not climb on anything outside, including vehicles. Please do not move anything outside to get a perfect photo. We ask that you do not enter or unlock any of our old vehicles. These vehicles are our daily drivers and we do not want people inside of them.
-
